Special Members’ Meeting on ‘Shiv Purana’ at Elephanta Caves with a boat from Apollo Bunder

BLAVATSKY LODGE SPECIAL MEMBERS’ MEETING AT ELEPHANTA CAVES on SHIV PURANA on Sunday 28th October 2012: Bro. Navin Kumar had an introductory PP Presentation on ‘Shiv Purana’ on 17th August 2012 at Blavatsky Lodge. About 8 km. from Mumbai by sea are Elephanta Caves, which contain Rock-Cut Statues depicting events narrated in Shiv Purana like Trimurty, Shiv-Parvati Vivah, Ganga Avataram, etc. The purpose of his presentation was to give an outline of Shiv Purana and to see it in the light of Theosophical Precepts in Secret Doctrine and other books of the Leaders of the Theosophical Society.
The proposed programme of Half a Day Special Members’ Meeting at Elephanta Caves is as under:
· 8.30 a.m. To gather at Apollo Bunder, Opposite Police Chowkey, before barricades for the Gateway of India
· 9.00 a.m. To take a boat to Elephanta Caves
· On arrival to reach the caves by climbing or by mini Rail
· To visit the Caves to see the Trimurty and other beautiful Statues depicting Shiv Purana
· To gather for Tea & Refreshment
· To meet under a shady tree for the Special Members’ Meeting to understand the significance of these beautiful statues in the light of Shiv Purana and Theosophy guided by Bro. Navin Kumar
· 12.30 p.m. to go down to the Jetty for a return boat to Mumbai
· 1.00 p.m. To take a boat to Apollo Bunder Mumbai.
Note: Please carry your bottle of drinking water with you.
Registration: Rs. 275/- will cover the Return Boat Ticket, Return mini Rail for Senior Members and Tea & Refreshments at Elephanta Caves.
Senior Members above 75 year’s age will be Guests of Blavatsky Lodge, but please register the names.
